Before you begin, you may find the Your Pyramid Connections Slide Guide™ helpful in determining your recommended calories based on your age, gender, and activity level. The slide guide is also something you can toss in your purse, backpack, or briefcase to remind you of your daily recommended food groups, especially your recommended colored vegetables each week. For more information click here. TUNE INTO YOUR DIET This week be your own diet analyst. Write down everything you eat and drink for the next 5 days, in the order that it was eaten. Include fast foods, dining out, vending machine foods, water, salad dressings, butter or margarine, coffee creamer - everything. Record amounts and calories. Let's see how your plate rates, nutritionally that is.
Take a few minutes to think back to what you ate and drank the last 5 days.
Include weekend days.
Use your 5-Day Recorder and total the amount of food groups you
ate in the table listed below. Look on your Pyramid Connections Slide Guide
to find your recommended food group amounts based on your age, gender, and
activity. Write that amount in the table. What do you need to increase or
decrease? Make note of that below.
Now answer the following questions about what you recorded.
